Zafrullah sued for land grabbing

DHAKA, Oct 16, 2018 : A case has been filed against Gonoshasthaya Kendra founder Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury over allegation of land grabbing in Ashulia.

Mohammad Ali, owner of the land filed the case with Ashulia Police station on Monday night.

In addition to Dr Zafrullah, register Md Delwar Hossen and director MD Saiful Islam of Gono Bishwabidyalay, were made accused in the case.

According to the case, the three accused forcefully grabbed 4.28 acres of land from Mohammad Ali in Pathalia union under Ashulia police station.

Prior to this, Ali was put under pressure to transfer the ownership of the land to Gonoshasthaya Kendra Trustee, plaintiff alleged.

Besides, he was pressurised to donate Tk. 1 crore to the trustee, if he doesn’t want to transfer the ownership of the land, it said.

In this connection, Mohammad Ali said that they hang a signboard after grabbing the land forcefully. The market price of the land is around Tk. 15 crores.

When contacted Register Delwar, his phone found switched off.

Confirming the matter, Officer-in-Charge of Ashulia Police Station Rezaul Haque Dipu said legal action will be taken in the regard.
