DHAKA, June 03, 2018 : Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Minister Mustafa Jabbar today said ICT is recognized worldwide as the main component of development and all concerned have to utilize the immense possibility of this sector for good.
“The present government has adopted and implemented different innovative activities to build a knowledge-based country enriched by ICT. As a result of such activities, poor but meritorious students will get inspired in studying and researching ICT,” he said.
The minister came up with the observations while addressing a day-long seminar on the result of innovation activities run by the government, achievements and creating awareness, at ICT Tower in the capital.
Presided over by ICT Division Secretary Subir Kishore Chowdhury, the seminar was also addressed by additional secretary of ICT Division Rashedul Islam and project director of a2i programme Mostafizur Rahman, among others.
A total of Taka 13.36 crore was allocated for 225 projects from fiscal 2013-14 to 2017-16 for innovative works in ICT sector. Taka 4.01 crore was allocated for 81 persons or institutes from fiscal 2017-18 till now.
