DHAKA, Mar 22, 2019 : Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni today called for developing sense of patriotism among students to build an economically advanced country.
“We all should love my country….. We have to work together for building a happy and prosperous Bangladesh,” she told a meeting of former Students’ Association of Carmichael College at Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) here, an official release said.
Principal of Carmichael College Prof Dr Sheikh Anwar Hossain, among others, addressed the meeting with President of the association Chowdhury Khalequazzaman in the chair.
Dr Dipu said action would be taken against the teachers who would be found involved with coaching business.
She urged the teachers to perform their duties with utmost sincerity and spend more time in classroom for ensuring good academic atmosphere in educational institutions.
Dr Dipu said braving a number of challenges, Bangladesh has made a remarkable progress in education sector.
“Over the years, enrolment of students at primary and secondary levels has increased to a great extent due to distribution of free textbook among the students at primary and secondary levels,” she said, adding, “Eradication of gender disparity in primary and secondary education has already been acknowledged in different international forums”.
